The Official Newsletter of the New South Wales Fancy Rat & Mouse Club.

Twitches is a Newsletter that is distributed to all financial members of the New South Wales Fancy Rat & Mouse Club (NSWFRMC).

It includes interesting and informative articles relating to the proper care, breeding, housing and dietary requirements for Rats & Mice.

It also includes members articles, that are sometimes funny, informative, serious and sad. Whenever possible we review products suitable for Rat & Mouse Care, Feeding, Housing and Fun.

It lists our sponsors and we encourage all members to seriously consider the products offered by our sponsors.

Sometimes we include fun pages for the children of our members and even some for adults.

We list all show notifications and results along with a Kitten register for those who want to sell and buy Rats or Mice.

Our Media watch section helps keep us all up to date with what is happening to our furry friends in the big wide world.

We encourage contributions from Members and Sponsors and always endeavour to include their contributions in the next available issue.

How To Write Articles For Twitches

We need your contributions to make this Newsletter a truly informative and interesting publication. We encourage all of you to write articles and contribute to Twitches.

Written Articles

Written articles can be of any length but should be kept under a maximum of 6-7 hand written A4 pages or 3-4 typed (12pt font) A4 pages. Articles of this size however take considerable time to prepare and are only recommended if you're really keen. Examples of topics for large articles would be breeding, diseases and care for rats and mice.

A 'nice' size is about 1-2 written A4 pages or 1 A4 page typed (12pt font). You can write quite a nice article of this size on just about any topic and it is not going to be really hard work. Suggestions for these articles are a life story of your pet, personal experiences combating a disease, experiences rescuing animals, animal behaviour, fictional stories relating to rats & mice, a good day out with a pet, pets at school, how to make a cage, or how to make a hammock, how to make toys, recipes, and so on.

Of course little cute stories or snippets of information are equally welcome. These could include cute habits of your pets. Your opinion on any subject or a subject addressed previously in Twitches is welcome at any time.

Club Members really enjoy hearing about personal accounts and experiences from other owners.

You don't need a computer to prepare articles, neat handwritten articles are more than welcome. You don't need illustrations or pictures for an article (they are of course quite welcome though) as I can also arrange these.

Any articles you submit that are not your original work must be accompanied with the authors name, the source you gathered them from and the date they were originally published.

There are many other areas you can contribute to Twitches which require very little effort.
