New South Wales Fancy Rat & Mouse Club

Ten Years On - Still Going Strong

Mission Statement

The New South Wales Fancy Rat & Mouse Club is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting Fancy Rats and Mice as suitable pets for everybody. (A 'Fancy' rat or mouse is a rat/mouse that conforms to a standard. Such as Long Hair, Rex or Manx etc.)

Our primary objective is to educate the general public about the benefits and rewards associated with the ownership of these fabulous pets and to provide a friendly, social gathering for people who share this common interest.

We endeavour to teach and educate owners and prospective owners about the joys of pet ownership and proper pet husbandry along with the fun involved with showing Fancy Rats & Mice as a hobby.

Breed Confirmation Shows are held regularly throughout each year and are often incorporated into larger Agricultural or Pet shows such as Campbelltown City Show, Castle Hill Show, Hawkesbury Ag-Craft Show, Fairfield Koi & Pet Expo and the Sydney Pet and Animal Expo.

Members and non-members are all welcome to come along to our shows to participate, socialise and perhaps swap information and stories about their beloved pets. We have Formal and Pet sections that cater to all varieties of animals. Prizes may include trophies, ribbons, sashes and certificates and are presented at the completion of all judging.

We publish Twitches a quarterly magazine that is distributed to all financial members. Twitches includes informative articles, show results, members stories, a media watch section and much more.
